Senior Account Director Job Description

The MINDset direct Senior Account Director plays a key, proactive role in driving direct response fundraising and advocacy strategy from inception through to completion for several clients. The Senior Account Director must effectively collaborate with MINDset colleagues, our clients, and our creative and production partners, to ensure the on-time execution of multiple concurrent projects. This role requires a self-motivated individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, a broad-ranged understanding of fundraising strategies, and the ability to develop & execute strategy, and manage production.

Experience and Capabilities:

  • 8+ years relevant work experience in direct response fundraising, strategic planning and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational and project/time management skills – must be able to handle multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to work with a variety of partners and clients
  • Ability to independently establish and manage to work priorities
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Solution-focused
  • Excellent communications skills

Specifically:

  • Ability to work in matrix managed team setting
  • Lead client relationship manager
  • Complete management and execution of fully integrated, multi-channel direct response program
  • Develop & maintain overarching strategic vision
  • Responsible for creation of strategic plan/concept memo
  • Ownership of fiscal year and campaign budget planning
  • Responsible for strategic list planning for acquisition efforts
  • Results compared to projections: overall and campaign-specific
  • Planning, development and facilitation of meetings and presentations

The Account Director must effectively collaborate with MINDset colleagues, our clients, and our creative and production partners, to ensure the on-time execution of multiple concurrent projects. The Account Director role requires a self-motivated individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, a broad-ranged understanding of fundraising strategies, and the ability to drive schedules, execute creative strategy, and manage production.

Experience and Capabilities:

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in direct response fundraising, project management and/or production coordination
  • Excellent organizational and project/time management skills – must be able to handle multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to work with a variety of partners and clients
  • Ability to independently establish and manage to work priorities

Specifically:

Production:

  • Manage schedules and timelines
  • Coordinate with creative and copy partners from kick off through final client approval
  • Prepare production/design templates from strategic kick off including components, specs, tests, controls
  • Outline package codes for tests and controls
  • Coordinate production kick off meetings
  • Coordinate scanline approvals (either bank or internal)Coordinate and follow up on samples
  • Data management knowledge, including:
    • Providing data and personalization instructions to production partners
    • Coordinating acquisition merge/purge process and data splits
    • Coordinating housefile segmentation and mail plans
    • Review and approve file counts and laser sign offs
  • Main contact with client on

    • data requests
    • creative approval process
    • production approvals, both through partners and client
  • Project budgeting, final cost summary and invoice management
  • Strategy and analysis:
    • Review campaign results and report to senior account lead
    • Participate in creative and strategic planning meetings
